Soya Chunks Masala





Ingredients

2 cups soy chunks
4 cups water + a pinch of salt
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
1 tbs finely chopped ginger
1 tbs finely chopped garlic
3 green chillies finely chopped
few curry leaves
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp roasted jeera/ cumin powder
1 tsp roasted saunf/aniseed powder
1 tsp pepper powder
4 tbs oil
salt to taste

coriander leaves to garnish.


Method
In a large pan heat 4 cups of water with a pinch of salt. Add soy chunks to it and keep it for 10 minutes in hot water. (its for softening the soy chunks)
Strain the water from soy chunks after 10 minutes and keep it aside.
In a pan, pour oil, add onion, chillies, garlic and ginger and fry for 2 minutes.
Add tomatoes and cook further for 3 minutes.
Add salt, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder,and aniseed powder and stir fry for 2 minutes and cover the pan and cook on low flame till the oil separates.
Add pepper powder and stir again.
Add softened soy chunks, mix welll in this masala and cover and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.
Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rotis.
