Aloo Tikki Chaat

Ingredients





4 boiled and mashed potatoes
1 large onion chopped
1 tsp chopped green chilli
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp amchur powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
maida / refined flour(or bread crumbs) for coating tikkis

For Serving
chana masala
sweet curd (curd mixed with sugar)
sweet tamarind chutney
mint chutney
lemon wedges
farsan/boondi/sev


Method

To the mashed potatoes, add onion, chillies, ginger, garlic, salt, garam masala, amchur powder and coriander powder.

Combine well with your hands.

Take a small portion of the mix on to your palm and slightly press it and shape it like a tikki/ cutlet.
Dip both sides of tikki in maida, to give a coating.(without coating, the tikkis will stick on to the pan while frying. Instead of maida, bread crumbs can be used.)
 Deep fry the tikki in oil.

Transfer the fried tikkis to a plate.

In a serving bowl/ plate, place 2 tikkis, pour some chana masala, mint chutney, tamarind chutney, sweet curd and garnish with sev or boondi or farsaan and lemon wedges.
