Eggless Donuts

Ingredients

2 cups plain flour + 1/4 cup  
3/4 cup dairy whitener
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 tsp. dry yeast
a pinch of nutmeg powder
a pinch of cinnamon powder
oil for deep frying.

Method
Warm the milk. Add sugar and yeast and keep aside for 5 mins.
Combine flour, dairy whitener, nutmeg and cinnamon. Make it into a dough using the milk and yeast mix.
The dough will be lumpy. Wrap it in a cling foil and set aside to rise for 2 hrs.
After 2 hrs unwrap the dough, add 1/4 cup flour and knead again into a soft and pliable mix.
Divide the dough into 4 equal size balls and roll out each ball into a roti of 2 m.m thickness.
With the help of cookie cutter or katorie, cut out 4 rounds from each roti. With the help of a small cookie cutter or bottle cap, again cut out the center of each round. place each donut on a greased sheet for half an hour.
Heat oil in a pan, reduce the flame to medium, and fry the donuts in small batches till golden brown.

Note
You can decorate the donuts with chocolate ganache or ready made chocolate syrup.
You can also dust the donuts with a mixture of icing sugar and cinnamon.
While shaping the donuts, the center portion you cut out with the small bottle cap, can also be fried separately . You can dust these donut balls with icing sugar and cinnamon. These CINNAMON BALLS are perfect tea time munchies.
