Chilli Fish

Ingredients
Fish fillets, 500 gms, cut into cubes

For the batter
1/2 cup corn flour
1/2 cup plain flour
salt and pepper to taste
a pinch of red color
3/4 cup water

for the sauce
 2 large onions, cut into cubes
1 large green pepper, cut into cubes
1 tsp. pepper powder
4 green chilies, slit
1 tsp. dark soy
1/2 tsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. finely chopped garlic
1 tbsp. red chilly paste
1 tbsp. cornflour, diluted in 1/2 cup water
salt to taste
oil for deep frying + 3 tbsp oil for sauce
few sprigs of spring onion for garnishing

Method
Prepare a smooth batter with plain flour, corn flour, salt, pepper , red color and water.
Dip fish cubes in the batter and coat it completely.
Deep fry the fish cubes in oil and keep it aside.
To prepare the sauce, heat 3 tbsp. oil in a pan.
Add onion, garlic, chilies and capsicum and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Add pepper powder, salt, soy, vinegar and red chilly paste and cook for a couple of minutes.
Pour the water mixed with corn flour and bring the sauce to a boil.
Garnish the sauce with spring onion and turn off the stove.
Add the fried fish pieces into the sauce just before serving.
