Batter Fried Chicken






ingredients

For the batter

1/4 cup cornflour
3/4 cup maida
salt to taste
1 tsp. pepper powder
water 1/2 cup

For coating
1 cup bred crumbs

For frying
Oil for deep frying

For marination
 1 kg chicken (I used leg piece.)
1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp. lemon juice
salt to taste
1 tsp. chilly powder
3 tsp. garam masala
1 tsp. coriander powder.
1 tbsp. green paste. (combine a bunch of coriander leaves, mint leaves, few sprigs of curry leaves and 2-3 green chillies and grind in a mixer, into a very fine thick paste. Use very little water for grinding.)
1 tbsp. hung curd

Method
Marinate the chicken with all the mentioned ingredients and chill for 2 hrs.
Prepare the batter using cornflour, maida, salt, pepper and water. The batter should have no lumps.
Dip each marinated chicken piece in the batter and roll it in the bread crumbs. The chicken should be coated in the crumbs properly.
Chill the coated chicken for another 1/2 hour.
Pour oil in a kadai, once it is heated up, take the chicken pieces from the refrigerator and deep fry them in small batches.
Serve hot.
